MK pins its hopes on Shivambu

The new national organiser, who defected from the EFF, is expected to develop clearer policies for the struggling party

Jacob Zuma’s uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party has wasted no time in getting its policy tsar to work, laying on motorcades around the provinces with local MK leaders, political rallies and a gala dinner for its newly appointed national organiser, former Economic Freedom Front (EFF) deputy president Floyd Shivambu. It’s hoped that his presence will energise party structures and sharpen MK policy positions as it seeks to establish itself as a major player in South African politics following the shake-up in the country after the May election.
