Ouattara sweeps half the board

The voting figures show a deeply divided nation. Although President Alassane Ouattara won a third successive presidential term with 94% of the popular vote, it was on a mere 53.9% turnout. That figure combines turnouts of 95% plus in Ouattara's heartlands in the north with turnouts that fell as low as 21% in Zouan-Hounien, in the west, and 36% in Gagnoa, in the cocoa belt.
