Anglo accused

Activists are challenging Anglo American's role in the messy copper privatisation

In a test case for the OECD's code, the Copperbelt-based group Citizens for a Better Environment (CBE) has complained to Britain's Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). The CBE accuses Anglo of having broken OECD rules on competition, taxation, environmental protection and disclosure, when it bought several mines on the Copperbelt through its subsidiary Konkola Copper Mines (KCM).
