Turkey’s power boost

The government has signed concessions to operate its airport and a large power plant with Turkey’s FB Group, prompting speculation about Ankara’s geopolitical ambitions in the region. FB CEO and founder Fatih Bora was granted a 49-year concession to run and massively expand São Tomé’s International Airport, which currently receives only five weekly flights from Lisbon, and a few more from Libreville, Luanda, and Malabo.
