Security in disguise

Khartoum’s expulsion of 13 international non-governmental organisations has provided an opportunity for asset stripping (AC Vol 50 No 6). Instead of handing over premises, equipment and data to other INGOs to maintain the humanitarian pipeline before the rains, we hear security agents drive four-wheel drives still bearing INGO logos. The Nyala office of one charity is now state headquarters of the National Security and Intelligence Service.
