The British personal injury and negligence law firm Leigh Day is preparing judicial review proceedings against Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) over claims that Morocco is passing off tomatoes grown in Western Sahara as Moroccan. The firm says the British government is illegally failing to check the origin of the tomatoes, as required for them to be classified under European Union trade tariff laws. The Moroccan Agriculture Ministry is lying about the fruits' origin, says the lawyers' client, the Western Sahara Campaign UK.
