Rwanda looms larger in Kivu

The fighting in North Kivu looks set to trigger the eclipse of Bosco Ntaganda and puts pressure on Kigali

The fighting between Congo-Kinshasa’s army and its former comrades in the Tutsi Congrès national pour la défense du peuple is growing more intense and more complex. Protesting at their loss of privileges, the rebels, under General Jean-Bosco Ntaganda, who is wanted in the Hague for war crimes, deserted the Forces armées de la République démocratique du Congo (FARDC), into which the CNDP had been integrated in March 2009.
