Brothers reunited

Those who thought that the 1999 split in the National Islamic front, when Hassan Abdullah el Turabi was officially sidelined, would seriously change Khartoum’s Islamist regime might be surprised to see leaders from each faction appearing together at an international Islamist conference in London. Presidential Religious affairs advisor Ahmed Ali el Imam from the dominant National Congress (NC) and Beshir Adam Rahma from Hassan el Turabi’s Popular National Congress (PNC) are to speak at the Centre for the Study of Terrorism (CFSOt) on 17-18 October.
