Biya amendment

As international attention focused on Zimbabwe, Cameroon's President Paul Biya has quietly made plans for his own life presidency, largely free from foreign scrutiny. After nationwide protests by the opposition and civil society against the constitutional changes, on 10 April the government succeeded in passing a constitutional amendment in parliament that removes presidential term limits.
