The past awakes

On 19 April, the trial opened of the man accused of causing the death of ten United Nations' peacekeepers on 7 April 1994. The indictment says Major Bernard Ntuyahaga ordered the Belgian 'blue helmets' who were escorting Premier Agathe Uwilingiyimana to be disarmed and taken to Camp Kigali, blaming them for the 6 April missile attack on President Juvénal Habyarimana's aeroplane; the peacekeepers were then killed.
