Salva sidelines Riek

Chaos surrounds the fate of South Sudan’s First Vice-President Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon, whose arrest threatens to reignite war. On 26 March, his Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-in-Opposition (SPLM-IO) party claimed the defence minister and national security chief had ‘forcefully entered’ Machar’s residence, confiscated all phones and laptops, and issued an arrest warrant.
