In the latest slight to his father's old guard, King Mohammed VI has unbanned the country's leading satirist, Ahmed Sanoussi, better known as 'Bziz' for buzzing at the authorities. For 13 years, he'd been barred from public performances by an Interior Ministry order, renewed only last month. Mohammed nevertheless picked Bziz to present his latest television promotion for the royal charity for poor people. Mohammed has moved quickly to break paternal taboos, earning himself the nickname 'Royal Kherrouj ', after Morocco's world-record middle-distance runner. On a recent tour, he strode so briskly that some said he was trying to kill off the late Hassan's ageing advisors, who panted to keep up.
