Early retirement

Kim Jaycox's retirement as Vice-President for Africa at the World Bank presages further changes in the Bank's organisation and policy. Bank President James Wolfensohn told staff Jaycox 'would be pursuing his commitment to African development in new ways'. Jaycox (58) has been the World Bank's 'Africa czar' for past 12 years and his successor is unlikely to be able to shape policy so much and build such a high personal profile on the continent.
