A tough leader indispensable to outside interests. You're in Nairobi not Kinshasa

After the World Food summit in Rome, where he met fellow East African Presidents Yoweri Museveni and Benjamin Mkapa, President Daniel arap Moi stopped off unexpectedly in London. Much of the talk in Rome and London revolved around the Great Lakes. In the battle for eastern Zaïre, Museveni favours the Banyamulenge rebels and their Rwandan allies; Moi favours the Rwandan former army, the Interahamwé militias and their allies in President Mobutu Sese Seko's government. Mkapa sits somewhere in between. Moi worries that Britain listens too much to Museveni and Rwanda while forgetting its long-time friend in Nairobi.
