Beijing state banks to lend billions to Ouattara

In July, Development and Planning Minister Albert Mabri Toikeusse revealed that negotiations are under way between the Abidjan government and China’s state-run policy banks that will provide the West African state with up to US$10 billion in preferential loans over the next six years. That is more than twice the figure that President Alassane Dramane Ouattara announced on his return from a trip to China in late 2012 (AAC Vol 5 No 11).
