President Ernest Bai Koroma’s loyalists in the governing All People’s Congress are again clamouring for him to stand for a third term. That would require a change to the Constitution (AC Vol 54 No 16). A campaign based on the slogan 'After U na U' ('After you, it's you', in Krio), has been under way since mid-April, when the APC Deputy Secretary for Publicity, Robin Farley, floated it on the radio. It is lifted from the title of a recent hip-hop album, After me na me, by local artist Star Zee, who uses it to declare her dominance of the country’s female rap music scene.
