The Husab uranium mine project moves forward as the Chinese partners agree to new rules on employment

Development of the Husab uranium mine, the largest under construction globally, seems to be proceeding. The site, 60 kilometres inland from Swakopmund and 15 km. south of Rio Tinto’s 69%-owned Rössing uranium mine in the central Namib Desert, covers some 81 square km. and will have two large open pits, with some 150 million tonnes per year of ore and waste to be excavated.
