Toumba on the run

More military infighting looms following a shoot-out on 3 December in which junta leader Captain Moussa Dadis Camara was hit in the head and then flown to Morocco for medical treatment. A former aide now on the run, Aboubacar Sidiki Diakité 'Toumba' told Radio France Internationale that he shot Camara, whom he said had planned the 28 September massacre of over 150 demonstrators and was trying to pin the blame on others. Meanwhile ethnic rivalries among the contending military factions are sharpening.
