Poll hopes fade

Prospects of an election being held before a 22 December deadline are fading rapidly with a number of political groups both in opposition and in the transitional government insisting that a new constitution must be in place beforehand. That could leave President Salva Kiir Mayardit with little choice but to extend the tenure of the transitional government for a second time.
