The Parti de la Justice et du Développement is back in politics, with a message it intends to be acceptable to a majority of Moroccans. After the Islamist bombings in May 2003, the PJD was threatened with abolition, taking the blame for an environment in which radical Islamist groups such as Salafiya al Jihadiya and Assirat al Moustakim (Right Path) flourished (AC Vol 44 No 17).
